The Terms

As I mentioned on The Purpose page: The Keyword Academy is meant to help you build an online business. If I can put a reasonable amount of time, effort, and money into building an online business using their system, and get an equally reasonable return, then it works! This page explains how I have decided to determine that.

I will keep track of the money and time I spend implementing the Keyword Academy system. I’ll be keeping a running total of the following 3 things:

  1. Monetary costs:
I will have to spend money to subscribe to the Keyword Academy system. And although I could implement the system using free blogs, the Keyword Academy recommends buying and hosting your own sites so you have the option of selling them later. The money I spend on my Keyword Academy subscription, domain registrations, and web hosting, I consider to be monetary costs.
  2. Time spent:
I think that it’s also very important to keep track of the time I spend building my online business. Any time my wife or I (I’ve convinced her to help me out ;) ) spend building our online business will be tracked.
  3. Revenue:
Any money that I make as a result of implementing the Keyword Academy’s methods will be considered revenue. Since I don’t plan on selling anything on my sites, this will be almost entirely from Adsense clicks. I am also going to count any commissions I make by using the Keyword Academy’s affiliate referral system.

So what conclusions can be drawn from these numbers? Well, you’re welcome to draw you’re own conclusions, but the way I see it, there are 4 possible outcomes:

  1. Scam:
If within 6 months, the Keyword Academy system can’t pay for itself (ie. I can’t make back at least the cost of my Keyword Academy subscription; $33 US per month) then in my opinion it’s either a scam or I just really suck at using their system. :-D Either way, I’m defiantly stopping my subscription and researching other methods for building an online business.
  2. Not Worth It:
If within 6 months, the Keyword Academy system can pay for itself (ie. I make back at least the cost of my Keyword Academy subscription; $33 US per month) then in my opinion it’s not a scam. However, if that’s all I’m making, I feel that it would probably be a prudent decision to stop my subscription and start researching other ways to improve my online business income.
  3. Good Investment:
If within 6 months, the system can help me make enough to recoup all of my monetary costs, then I will give it my oh-so-important seal of approval :-D , and highly recommend it to others. After all, starting a business and being able to make enough to cover 100% of the start up capital within 6 months is no small feat. Plus, after that, almost everything you make is profit!
  4. Shockingly Good Investment:
If within 6 months, the system can help me make enough to recoup all of my monetary costs and more, I will be shocked! If this happens, it pretty much means that I got paid to learn how to make money online. Think about that: got paid to learn. How often do you have an opportunity to get paid to learn something? Take a drive down to the college nearest you and ask if they’ll pay you to take a class. Yeah, exactly.

So, that’s all there is to it. I’ll try to remember to put my running totals at the bottom of each post, and also update them in The Results page.
