About Me
You don’t have to read this post if you don’t want to. It’s not really an integral part of the experiment, I just included it in case you want to know where I’m coming from.
As I mentioned in The Purpose page. I am tired of hearing what I call “hero stories” about money making systems: dramatic tales of woe, struggle, and ultimately redemption at the hands of an amazing Internet money making program. I’m sure that some of those people really believe that Internet money saved their life, but I think for the most part it is a bunch of over hyped nonsense used to appeal to your emotions, so you’ll want to use their affiliate link. I don’t plan to tell you any such story here. However, if you want to know a little about me so you can better understand my point of view, skill level, or whatever, then read on.
I consider myself a fairly normal guy. I’m in my early 20’s, I have my GED, I didn’t attend any college or trade school, and I currently work as an independent contractor for a local computer consulting company. I have a knack for computers and I consider myself to be good at what I do (ie. fixing them).
However, I have no previous experience in Internet marketing, I hadn’t even heard the term “search engine optimization” before this week, and I’ve never built a website before (except for a Blogspot blog I started earlier this month).
Me and my wife live on a fairly modest income. We are both able to work only part time and make ends meet. I used to have a much higher paying, full time job at a software company, but I quit and found a part time job so that me and my wife could focus on family goals. We’ve had to tighten our belt, so to speak, to make it work, but we both agree that the extra free time we have together is worth it.
For the last month or two, I have been searching on the Internet for ways to make money online, or at least from home. I have run across a lot of expensive systems with big promises, but not much else. During my research, I ran across The Keyword Academy website. At the time, I had no intention of buying any system. My thought was that, if the info is out there, and these guys were able to find it, why couldn’t I do the same thing on my own. With that mind set, I started leeching all the free info off of their site.
The more I read, the more I was impressed by the quality of the information I was getting. These guys seem to really know what they are talking about, and they are giving the info away for free! This is a lot different than all those sites that only give you promises, but keep you in the dark about their methods.
Then I read an article that made me reconsider my “research it all on my own” attitude. You can read it here, but the basic idea that stood out to me was that if you want to make money, you need to quit wasting all your time reading about how to make money and get out there and actually try it! Research has it’s place, but what good is it if you don’t implement the results you gain?
That’s when I decided to pony up my dollar and give The Keyword Academy a spin. I really think these guys are on to something and I want to be in on it.
So, I setup the terms of my little experiment, and here we are…
